The registration process for Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022 for admission to undergraduate programs will start today. The entrance exam will be conducted in the first week of July. The three-and-half-hour computer-based entrance test will be conducted in two shifts.

. CUET is compulsory for all 45 central universities funded by University Grants Commission.
UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said, CUET has been designed in a way that no student is put to disadvantage. He said, CUET has been designed in a way that it will also ensure that the level of stress that youngsters undergo is brought down.
Talking Exclusively to AIR News, Mr Jagadesh Kumar said, in the current system many universities use 12th board marks and the score goes upto 99 percent and 100 percent giving a lot of stress to the students. He said, the board marks also vary from state to state.
Mr Jagadesh Kumar said that NEP 2020 envisions a multidisciplinary approach and the same has been endeavored with CUET. He said, a lot of flexibility have been introduced for the students. CUET will ensure level- playing field to students.
The UGC Chairman said, there has been an overwhelming positive response towards CUET.
