Realme has launched over half a dozen smartphones this year and the company has more lined up before 2019 comes to a close. We already know that the company plans to launch the Realme X2 Pro flagship smartphone in India next month and the Realme XT 730G in December. It now seems there may be another Realme phone that could launch in India soon. Realme 5s has been spotted on India’s Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) suggesting its imminent launch.
Not only has the Realme 5s been certified in India, but it has also been spotted on Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) by Nashville Chatter. This gives further proof that the Realme 5s exists. Realme has not confirmed its existence, however, and may launch the Realme 5s either with the Realme X2 Pro in November or Realme XT 730G in December.
Not much is known about the Realme 5s. There have been no renders or rumours about its design or specifications, so we don’t know what to expect just yet. The naming suggests it could be a version of the Realme 5. It may get a quad camera setup, but with less powerful internals to keep the price below Realme 5.
The other theory is that the Realme 5s will fall in between the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro. To recall, both these phones were launched in India touting quad camera systems. The Realme 5 is priced just under Rs 10,000 while the Realme 5 Pro starts at Rs 13,999.
