The Rajya Sabha has returned the Taxation and Other Laws (Relaxation and Amendment of Certain Provisions) Bill 2020. Lok Sabha has already passed it.
Replying to the Bill, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that several laws needed amendments due to the Covid-19 situation. She said, various taxation compliance periods were extended for giving relief to the people. She said, landmark decisions have been taken for the faceless assessment of the taxation to make it more transparent.
