Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said, in the last decade, 5 lakh railway employees have been recruited in a transparent manner as against the 4 lakh 40 thousand between 2004 to 2014.
He also mentioned that, this is the first time that the railway has prepared an annual calendar for this recruitment.
Mr. Vaishnaw was addressing the National Convention of All India Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes SC/ST Railway Employees Association organized at Ajani Railway Ground in Nagpur today.
President of this organization B.L Bhairava, General Manager of Central Railway, Dharamveer Meena, General Manager of South East Central Railway Mrs. Neenu were present on the occasion.
Referring to the constitution day to be observed tomorrow, Mr Vaishnav highlighted the importance of constitution for the Modi government.
He said, the respect towards constitution is not shown by waving the book of the constitution only but the respect of the constitution was shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by bowing down to the constitution while entering into the parliament.
The Railway Minister also gave the information about the reforms made in the railways, he informed that the production of special coaches and general coaches is going on and near about twelve thousand general coaches are being manufactured.
On the occasion, the Minister also unveiled the souvenir of the association.
During his one day visit to Nagpur Mr. Vaishnaw also paid tributes to Central memorial of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar in Deekshabhoomi Nagpur. The two day convention will conclude tomorrow on Constitution Day.
