President & PM express grief over demise of former Uttarakhand CM Major General Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri

President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed grief over the demise of former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Major General Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri (retired). In a social media post, the President said that after rendering exemplary service in the Indian Army, Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri set an example of honest, simple, transparent, and development-orientated politics in public service.

The President also said that his commitment towards the development, good governance and public welfare of the country and Uttarakhand will always be remembered. President Murmu also expressed her condolences to the bereaved family members and well-wishers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that from the armed forces to the political arena, Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri made invaluable contributions, for which he will always be remembered. He said that Major General Khanduri remained forever dedicated to the development of Uttarakhand, which was clearly evident during his tenure as Chief Minister. Mr Modi highlighted that his term as a Union Minister is also inspiring to everyone and made tireless efforts continuously for the betterment of connectivity across the country.
