The portals of Badrinath Dham were thrown open for devotees this morning with ceremonial worship. The portals were opened amid the chanting of Vedic mantras. The military band played ritual tunes on this occasion.
Badrinath shrine, located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The shrine has been tastefully decorated with Marigold and Magnolia flowers. The Portals of Kedarnath Dham were opened on Friday.
The Char Dham yatra began on 3rd of this month with the opening of portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri temples on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya.
A record number of pilgrims are likely to visit Char Dham this year as it is for the first time since 2019 that the yatra has begun without the COVID-induced restrictions in force.
