Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded Uttarakhand for its outstanding strides in development, noting that the state is leading in various domains. Addressing the nation virtually on the occasion of the 25th Foundation Day of Uttarakhand today, the Prime Minister said that this day marks the beginning of the silver jubilee celebration of the state.
The Prime Minister emphasized that people of Uttarakhand have to start the journey of the next 25 years for a bright future for the state. He vowed to fulfil the resolution of Viksit Uttarakhand for a Viksit Bharat in the next 25 years. The PM affirmed that the central government is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the development of the state.
Underlining that Uttarakhand is setting new trends and standards, Mr. Modi pointed out that the state topped the 2023-2024 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index. He added that the state has been put in the category of leaders in the Achievers and Startup ranking of the Ease of Doing Business. The Prime Minister also noted that in the last 1.5-2 years, the state GDP rate of Uttarakhand has increased by over 1.25 times.
He mentioned that in 2024, GST collections have seen a jump of around 14 percent. The Prime Minister said that in 2014, the per capita income in Uttarakhand was around Rs. 1.25 lakh rupees per annum, which now stands at around Rs. 2.60 lakh rupees. He also extended congratulations to the citizens on the foundation day of Uttarakhand.
