Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Krishnapatnam Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited’s coastal terminal project in Guntur. He also dedicated to the nation the 1.33 million Metric Tonne capacity Vishakhapatnam Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) facility there. He inaugurated a third project – Vashishta and S1 development project of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, located in the Krishna-Godavari Offshore Basin.
The PM said that not only Andhra Pradesh, the entire nation will benefit from the projects by way of self-sustaining in the field of energy. These projects will also help to create jobs for the youth.
Later, addressing a public meeting in Guntur, Modi said that the central government has chosen Amaravati as the heritage city under the National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY). This is one of the steps in preserving places of mythological importance.
Modi criticised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for backstabbing his father-in-law N T Rama Rao. He said Naidu had promised “sunrise” for the people of Andhra Pradesh, but in reality he made his “son rise”.
