PM inaugurates & lays foundation stone of multiple development projects worth Rs 3,050 crore in Gujarat’s tribal region Navsari

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth 3,050 crore rupees in the tribal region of Navsari in South Gujarat. This includes the inauguration of seven projects, foundation stone laying for 12 projects and Bhumi Pujan of 14 projects. These projects will help in improving water supply in the region, along with boosting connectivity and enhancing ease of living. Prime Minister Modi is on a day long visit to his home state as a part of ‘Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan’.

The Prime Minister performed the Bhumi Pujan of 13 water supply projects for residents of Tapi, Navsari and Surat districts worth 961 crore rupees. He also performed the Bhumi Pujan of a Medical College in Navsari district to be built at the cost of 542 crore rupees, which will provide affordable and quality health care to the people of this region.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Madhuban Dam based Astol regional water supply project, built at the cost of around 586 crore rupees. It is a marvel of water supply engineering skills. He has also inaugurated ‘Nal Se Jal’ projects worth 163 crore rupees on this occasion. These projects will provide clean and adequate drinking water supply to the residents of Surat, Navsari, Valsad and Tapi districts.

The Prime Minister launched Virpur Vyara Sub-Station, constructed at a cost of over 85 crore rupees to provide electricity to residents of Tapi district. A sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 14 MLD worth 20 crore rupees was also inaugurated for Vapi city of Valsad district for wastewater treatment. The Prime Minister also inaugurated government quarters built in Navsari at a cost of 21 crore rupees. He inaugurated roads constructed from Piplaidevi – Juner – Chichvihir – Pipaldahad and school buildings constructed in Dang at a cost of 12 crore rupees each.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stones for eight water supply projects worth 549 crores to provide clean drinking water to the residents of Surat, Navsari, Valsad and Tapi districts. He also laid the foundation stone of a wide road connecting Khergam and Pipalkhed to be built at the cost of 33 crore rupees in Navsari district. Another four-lane road will be constructed between Navsari and Bardoli via Supa, at a cost of about 27 crore rupees. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for construction of Zila Panchayat Bhavan in Dang to be built at a cost 28 crore rupees.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Navsari MP and State BJP President C.R. Patil along with other dignitaries on his arrival at Surat airport.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that this is for the first time that multiple development projects are being launched on such a big scale in this tribal region of Gujarat. He said, the rapid development during the last two decades is the matter of pride for Gujarat. He said that a new aspiration has been born out of this development in this tribal region. The prime Minister was speaking at Khudvel in the tribal region of Navsari district after launching the multiple development projects worth 3,050 crore rupees under the ‘Gujarat Gaurav Abhiyan’.

Mr. Modi said that the NDA Government has laid the utmost emphasis on the welfare of the poor and on providing basic facilities to the poor. He said that the double-engine government is sincerely carrying forward this glorious tradition since the last eight years, following the Mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.

The Prime Minister termed the Madhuban Dam-based Astol Regional Water Supply Project as an engineering marvel, which will supply the water to the tribal people of this region staying on the heights. He said that the government is constantly working for the welfare of the people without any electoral considerations. He said that science and medical education become possible in this tribal region for the bright students following all these efforts. He congratulated the people of Dang district for performing exemplary work in natural farming.
