Dubai: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will hold a video conference with prominent NRI businessmen from Kerala on Sunday.
The interaction will take place in the context of coronavirus disease spreading across the globe and resulting in financial crisis. NRI businessmen including those who are part of the ‘Loka Kerala Sabha’ will take part in the conference. In the meeting, the CM would inform them about the state of affairs in Kerala and also discuss the problems faced by Keralites across the globe.
Gulf nations are anxious about the ramifications COVID-19 can cause in their finance sector and Kerala will be one worst affected regions because of this. The pandemic will impact tourism, real estate, hospitality, foreign exchange and construction industries. It is reported that it would take atleast six months to overcome the crisis. This would mean that thousands of people would lose their jobs.
