Parliament passes Rashtriya Raksha University Bill 2020

Parliament has passed the Rashtriya Raksha University Bill 2020. The Rajya Sabha today cleared this Bill, while the Lok Sabha had already passed it earlier.

The Bill establishes the Raksha Shakti University, Gujarat as a University called the Rashtriya Raksha University in Gujarat.

The Bill declares the University as an institution of national importance. Speaking on the Bill, Minister of State for Home Affairs, G. Kishan Reddy said that strengthening the police training system is the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said, this University is essential as several such police universities are functioning in the other countries. Vijayasai Reddy of YSR Congress, RCP Singh of JDU, K. Ravindra Kumar of TDP,  Mozibulla Khan of BJD spoke on the Bill extending their support to the legislation.
