Parliament passes Banking Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2020

Parliament has passed the National Forensic Sciences University Bill 2020 with the Rajya Sabha clearing it today. The Lok Sabha has already approved the Bill.
 
The Bill is to establish the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar and the Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Sciences, New Delhi, as a National Forensic Sciences University, Gujarat. The Bill declares the University to be an institution of national importance.
 
Replying to a discussion on the Bill, Minister of State for Home Affairs, G. Kishan Reddy said that a forensic scince plays an important role in the scientific investigation of crime incidents. He said, this university will work for the capacity building in the field of forensic science and promote research.
 
Participating in the Bill, Mozibulla Khan of BJD said that criminal justice plays an important role in the justice delivery system, hence, the establishment of this University will promote research in the field of forensic science. Vijayasai Reddy stressed on the need of establishing forensic universities in every state which will create specialists in this field. RCP Singh of JD (U) also supported the Bill.
