In Pakistan, President Arif Alvi today dissolved all the assemblies following the advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Mr. Khan also advised the President to call for fresh elections.
Earlier, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri dismissed the no-trust move terming it against Article 5 of the Pakistan Constitution. Suri chaired today’s session after opposition parties filed a no-confidence motion against Speaker Asad Qaiser.
According to Article 5 of Pak Constitution, loyalty to the State is the basic duty of every citizen.
Taking the floor shortly after the session began, Pak- Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that loyalty to the state was the basic duty of every citizen under Article 5. He reiterated Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan’s earlier claims that a foreign conspiracy was behind the move to oust the government.
Later, in a public address, Imran Khan told Pakistan to prepare for elections.
