Over 20 lakh 74 thousand new workers have been enrolled under the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme in August this year. The year-on-year analysis shows a growth of 6.80 percent in net registrations compared to August last year. Out of 20.74 lakh, 9.89 lakh employees, which is around 47.68 percent, belong to the age group of upto 25 years. Gender-wise analysis of the payroll data indicates that net enrolment of female members has been 4.14 lakh in August.
Labour and Employment Ministry said that 28 thousand 917 new establishments have been brought under the social security ambit of the ESI Scheme in August.
