The Government has said that over eleven crore five lakh rural households have tap water supply in their homes. Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Prahlad Singh Patel said that the Government is implementing Jal Jeevan Mission to provide a tap water connection to every rural household in the country by 2024.
Mr Patel said this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha on Thursday. He said, at the time of the announcement of the Jal Jeevan Mission, three crore 23 lakh rural households were reported to have tap water connections. Mr Patel said, more than seven crore 81 lakh additional rural households have been provided with tap water connections so far under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
