Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has extended his greetings to all daughters of the country on the occasion of National Girl Child Day. In a series of tweets, Mr Singh said daughters are the pride of family, society and country.
He said that today, the girl child is playing an active role in every sphere of life, including defense of the country.
He added that Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign is strengthening the foundation of the new India. He said empowerment of daughters is paving the way for empowerment of the country.
In his message, Home Minister Amit Shah said Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao has led to increase in enrollment of girls in schools and unprecedented improvement in the sex ratio. He reiterated the government’s commitment to make the girl child self-reliant.
