On Sunday, a panic crept in commuters when a Dadar-bound local train failed to halt at Kandivali and Goregaon stations. But the Western Railway (WR) has denied the reports of train skipping the stations.
According to Mumbai Mirror, the incident took place on Sunday, and around 10.50 am, when the local train reached Andheri station, the passengers of the train started arguing with motorman and guard for skipping the stations. Due to this, the train was halted at Andheri Station and got delayed for seven minutes. The train left after local railway officials intervened. A passenger named Ramesh Singhal (38) resident of Borivali, who was travelling in the same train, told the leading daily, “When the train was crossing the Kandivali station in full speed, a few commuters tried to pull the alarm chain but it didn’t stop, and also skipped its halt at Goregaon station.”
On the other hand, the WR has denied that the train skipped the station. But a commuter has clicked a picture when angry commuters were arguing with the motorman and guards on the issue. A railway officer at Andheri station, told the leading daily, “I don’t think that the wrong announcement was done. Besides, we will check and if anyone is found guilty, they will be punished.’’
