The MiG-29K fighter plane has been a victim of an accident in Goa. Naval sources have said that the aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff. The aircraft was on its training flight. Both pilots aboard Captain M Sheokhand and Lieutenant Commander Deepak Yadav managed to save their lives by ejecting. The aircraft was a trainer aircraft for the MiG’s fighter aircraft version.
While giving the information, Naval Spokesperson Commander Vivek Madhwal has said that the engine of the aircraft caught fire which caused the accident. Meanwhile, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that he has discussed with both the pilots and Lt. Deepak Yadav who narrowly escaped the accident. It is satisfying that he saved himself while on time. I pray for his good health.
Earlier in September, an Air Force MiG 21 Trainer aircraft fell victim to an accident in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh. No one was killed in this accident and at the same time, both the pilots, including the group captain and squadron leader of the aircraft, had declared themselves safe. The aircraft was also on a regular training flight which fell victim to the accident near Gwalior Airbase. The Indian Army, while issuing an order of the Court of Inquiry, entrusted the responsibility of investigation to an officer of the rank of Colonel.
