Kochi: Lockdown restrictions in Ernakulam, which comes under Orange A category, will be eased from Friday. District Collector S. Suhas announced details of the relaxation in a press conference here.
The relaxations will be mostly applicable to health and agriculture sectors. Restrictions will be eased in fishing, plantation, finance and animal husbandry sectors.
However, public transport facilities, educational institutions and movie theatres will remain shut. No public gathering including for prayers will not be allowed. No more than 20 persons can take part in wedding and funeral functions.
Barber shops will remain shut. Hotels can provide parcels. Textile industry has been granted relaxations. Workshops and repair shops of electrical and electronic equipment and machineries will be allowed to function.
Akshaya centres will be open. Government and Local Self Government offices will function with restrictions.
Private vehicles will be allowed to ply with restrictions. Vehicles bearing odd registration numbers will be allowed on the roads on Monday, Wednesday and Friday while vehicles with even numbers will be allowed to ply on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. These restrictions will not be applicable for vehicles driven by women.
Four-wheelers can carry three persons including the driver while only one person can travel on a two-wheeler. Travel outside the district will not be allowed. Road users must wear masks.
