Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said Life Line Udaan have played important role in supplying essential goods across the country during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Addressing media in New Delhi, he said, around two thousand tonnes of medical equipment and other medical supplies have been imported from the foreign countries and more than 30 tonnes have been supplied to other countries by India. He said, total 940 tonnes of cargo have been supplied across the country through Life Line Udaan.
Appreciating the efforts made by the Prime Minister to bring back the stranded Indians during the Covid-19 pandemic, he said, Vande Bharat Abhiyan played instrumental role in bringing back the citizens. He said, more than 20 lakh people have benefitted from Vande Bharat Abhiyan since 6th of May this year.
On the preparedness of the Covid-19 pandemic, he said, India is pharmacy of the world and country has become the major supplier of medical goods to other countries.
