Kerala: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan quits as CPI (M) party Secy; A Vijayaraghavan given temporary charge

In Kerala, Communist Part of India (Marxist) State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has rendered resignation from the post today. LDF (Left Democratic Font) Convener A. Vijayaraghavan has been given the charge of party affairs. He will be holding the post temporarily. His request for long leave has also been approved by the CPM Secretariat.
 
Mr. Kodiyeri said that he is staying away from the Party Secretary’s post for treatment of his illness. His resignation comes in the midst of the ongoing controversy relating to his son Bineesh Kodiyeri’s involvement in Bengaluru drug case. Bineesh Kodiyeri was sent to jail in connection with a money laundering case.
