Karrupar Kootam DMK link Exposed …

The Karuppar Kootam row has been in the news for several weeks now, thanks to the arrest of their leader Senthil Vasan. Two other members of the controversial fringe group that specialized in making controversial videos on YouTube were arrested earlier.

Across the political and social spectrum, prominent citizens including Rajinikanth spoke out against the vulgar and inflammatory content of the video.

Amid widespread allegations questioning the DMK President MK Stalin’s silence on the issue and that the DMK was behind the group in an attempt to fan sectarian hatred, Mr Stalin took to the media after a long silence of a week. In a guarded statement, he attempted to distance the DMK from this group and claimed it was a tactic to divert public attention from other, more pressing, issues. The DMK’s vociferous support base on social media took to Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp in droves in an attempt to reinforce this message and establish the distance from the hate channel.

However, the new twist to the tale is the startling allegation by the AIADMK IT Wing Secretary, Mr Raj Satyen that there the legal support to the group is being provided by the DMK.

Taking to media, Mr Raj Satyen, released a copy of the bail petition and in a tweet storm addressed to his counterpart Mr P Thigarajan, DMK MLA and Head of the DMK IT Wing, he alleged that Mr Raj Thilak, part of the legal team providing representation to the group, was a junior of N R Elango, a DMK lawyer who had been earlier nominated for a Rajya Sabha Seat by the DMK.

We attach the copy of the bail petition as shared by Mr Raj Satyen. It remains to be seen how the DMK counters this fresh allegation.
