Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa held a meeting with Members of Parliament from Karnataka in Bengaluru yesterday to discuss the progress of projects being implemented with Central assistance. During the meeting the Chief Minister announced that he will meet Members of Parliament once every two months to ensure better coordination and to achieve faster progress in development works. Seeking their support from MPLAD fund, the Chief Minister asked them to work for getting more Central grants for the development work in the state.
The Members of Parliament listed out the development works that need the attention of the state government. They sought minimum support price for paddy and maize, resumption of Hospet-Bellary national highway work, and development of Mysuru airport. They also sought speeding up of housing project with central funds of 700 crores, speeding up of irrigation projects on Thungabhadra and Krishna rivers and revival of defunct PSUs.
