Janmashtami Celebrations Across India as Devotees Worship Lord Krishna

Festival of Janmashtami, which marks the birth of Lord Krishna, is being celebrated across the country today. Devotees throng to the temples to offer prayers to Lord Krishna. Mathura and Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh are fully geared to celebrate the birth of LordKrishna.

Thousands of temples including Banke Bihari Temple, Prem Mandir, Iskcon Temple and Shri Krishna Janm Bhumi Temple have been tastefully decorated in Mathura, the birth place of Lord Krishna.

President Droupadi Murmu has extended warm greetings on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. In her message on the eve of Janmashtami, the President called it a festival filled with joy and enthusiasm. She said that the life and teachings of Bhagwan Shri Krishna inspires people towards self-development and self-realisation.

She added that Bhagwan Shri Krishna enlightened humanity about attainment of ultimate truth by following the path of Dharma. President Murmu highlighted that the festival inspires people to adopt eternal values embodied by Yogeshwar Shri Krishna. She urged everyone to take a pledge to follow the teachings of Bhagwan Shri Krishna and make the society and nation stronger.
