IPL 2025: MI thrash KKR by 8 wickets

In IPL T20 Cricket, Mumbai Indians defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai last night. Mumbai comfortably chased down the target of 117 in 12.5 overs, reaching 121 runs with the loss of just two wickets. Mumbai opener Ryan Rickelton led the chase with an unbeaten 62 runs off 41 balls, while Suryakumar Yadav followed up with a rapid 27 from just 9 balls to seal the victory.

Earlier, put in to bat first, Kolkata Knight Riders were bundled out for just 116 runs in 16.2 overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi was the top scorer for Kolkata with 26 runs, while debutant Ashwani Kumar scalped four wickets for Mumbai. He also became the first Indian to claim a four-wicket haul on his IPL debut. Kumar was adjudged Player of the Match.

In today’s fixture, Lucknow Super Giants will face Punjab Kings at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The match will begin at 7.30 PM. Both teams have 2 points, with Lucknow in third place and Punjab in fifth. Lucknow won their last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets but lost to Delhi Capitals by 1 wicket. Punjab, on the other hand, defeated the Gujarat Titans by 11 runs.
