Indian Army Troops In Puducherry Successfully Rescued Over 100 People Stranded In Flood-Hit Areas

In Puducherry, Indian Army troops from the Chennai Garrison Battalion successfully rescued over 100 people stranded in flood-hit areas following Cyclone Fengal (Fenjal). The rescue operation was initiated after the District administration’s request for the army’s assistance. A Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) column reached in Puducherry from Chennai today early morning. The column initiated the rescue operation in the Krishnanagar region, where water levels had risen to approximately five feet in certain areas, submerging around 500 houses.
