India and Sweden chalked out the blueprint for linking innovation with aspirations at the High-Level Policy Dialogue on Innovation Policy, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf here on Monday.

“Both leaders emphasised the role of collaborative tech-innovation leadership of the two countries in meeting the challenges of the future,” he posted after the talks between the two sides.
Both leaders also discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation, and also in trade and investment, renewable energy, environment and climate change.
“Broadening the spectrum of bilateral cooperation PM @narendramodi held useful discussions with HM King Carl XVI Gustaf & HM Queen Silvia. The leaders affirmed the common desire of building greater convergences on bilateral, regional & global matters of mutual interest,” he said.
The delegation level talks were held at the Hyderabad House.

The two leaders also inaugurated a pilot plant to turn paddy stubble into green coal.
“A pilot plant to convert agricultural waste to biocoal has been set up at @NABI_India with support from @PrinSciAdvGoI and Bioendev, a Swedish Company with a technology to tackle crop stubble burning and air pollution in India #swedenindiasambandh,” the Swedish Embassy in India tweeted.
“India-Swedish Collaborative Joint Center of Exellence in Innovation and Entrepreneurship between KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Indian Institute of Technology- Madras was announced,” it said.
“From future mobility to circular economy, from digital Health to AI, Sweden & India will innovate together,” it said, with the hashtag #swedenindiainnovationpartnership.
Earlier, the Swedish royal couple arrived here on Monday on a five-day state visit and were accorded a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
They will also visit Mumbai and Uttarakhand.
This is the second State Visit to India by the Swedish royal couple. The first was in 1993.
It is the fourth high-level exchange between Sweden and India since 2015 when then President Pranab Mukherjee was on a historic first State Visit to Sweden. In 2016, Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven visited India and in 2018 Prime Minister Modi visited Sweden.
