ICC Holds Meeting Over Issue Related To Champions Trophy 2025 Edition

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board members held a meeting yesterday over the issue related to the Champions Trophy 2025 edition.

Media reports said, in the virtual meeting, the ICC Board Members aligned with the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s firm stance of not traveling to Pakistan amid concerns over security.

BCCI had also suggested for a hybrid model where matches involving India to be played at neutral venues. However, PCB has so far maintained its stance of opposing the hybrid model. The ICC board members will again meet soon to reach a decision over the issue. The 50-over tournament is tentatively scheduled to be held in February-March next year.

Meanwhile, the Vice President of BCCI Rajeev Shukla said Indian players’ safety is of the utmost importance. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Mr Shukla said, talks between ICC and Pakistan Cricket Board are ongoing. He said, BCCI will do whatever the Indian government instructs.
