HM Amit Shah Praises SSB’s Dedication To Nepal-Bhutan Border Security On 61st Raising Day

Union Home Minister Amit Shah joined the Sashastra Seema Bal SSB 61st Raising Day programme today, as Chief Guest, at Ranidanga of Siliguri in West Bengal. He paid his tribute to the martyrs and then took the salute. The Director General of the SSB Amrit Mohan Prasad was also present in the program. Amit Shah also gave a bravery award to the SSB personnel. The Home Minister also virtually inaugurated the newly built housing complex at the Integrated Check Post of Petrapole in Bengal and Agartala of Tripura.

He said SSB guards the 2450 km border with Nepal and Bhutan with dedication and also does its duty to check the illegal transfer of narcotics. He further added that protecting fenced borders is much easier than protecting an open border. He praised the dedication and devotion of SSB sits its inception in 1963.
