Mumbai: A delegation of Hindi-speaking citizens from Mumbai on Wednesday met CM Devendra Fadnavis and handed over a cheque of Rs 2.51 lakh to support government’s efforts towards drought mitigation. The donation was made to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund by the delegation which was led by BJP leader Amarjit Mishra. Mishra said the delegation comprised Hindi-speaking middle-class citizens who have made Mumbai their home and wanted to contribute towards drought relief in the state. “We wanted to contribute to the government’s efforts
towards drought mitigation. The amount of Rs 2.51 lakh was collected through contributions from the community,” he said. Fadnavis tweeted about it and thanked Mishra and his team for the donation. As many as 151 tehsils spread across nearly two dozen districts have been affected by drought in Maharashtra.
