Home Minister Amit Shah today said that the government is working on making the border impregnable by linking technology with human force. Mr Shah said this while addressing the Police Commemoration Day Parade at National Police Memorial in New Delhi. He also paid tribute to police personnel, who lost their lives in the line of duty. Mr Shah assured the police personnel that you take care of the internal security of the country and the Narendra Modi government is always ready to protect them and their family.
Mr Shah said, so far 35 thousand 398 police personnel have laid down their lives in the service of the nation. The Home Minister said, 264 personnel of State Police Forces as well as those of Central Armed Police Forces, gave supreme sacrifice in the line of duty during the last one year. He said, this National Police memorial is not merely a structure of brick, stone and cement but it reminds people of the supreme sacrifice made by the police personnel and it gave immortality to India’s freedom and kept the national flag flying high.
The Home Minister said, Police and CAPF personnel played a significant and frontline role as COVID Warriors. As a result, 343 police and CAPF personnel fell prey to COVID-19 in the line of duty while contributing to COVID management.
Mr Shah said, their commitment towards the motherland inspires each and every Indian. Mr Shah said that the country is proud of the police personnel for their distinguished service and unparalleled courage.
