Union Home Minister Amit Shah said coastal security is paramount for the country and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to build infrastructure facilities to ensure peace on the borders. The minister was addressing the gathering at Koteshwar in Kutch district, after laying the foundation stone for BSF’s Mooring Place and virtually inaugurating the newly built Chidiyamod Biarbet link road and OP Tower in Harami Nala in Kutch. Mr. Shah said all three projects with a total outlay of 360 crores rupees will help maintain vigil on the international borders.
Mr. Shah said the government is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the welfare of the families of security personnel who protect the nation. He said, during the past nine years, the medical, housing, and educational facilities have been enhanced. Stressing upon the importance of border security force, Mr. Shah said it was former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpeyi who came up with this concept called ‘One Border One Force’. The Minister lauded the valuable role of BSF in guarding the borders of the country irrespective of the harsh climatic conditions.
