Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said, the government is committed to strengthen science and technology education in the country. Delivering his Keynote address at IIT 2020 Global Summit organised by PanIIT USA, Mr Modi said, in recent times, a culture of hackathons is developing in India and in these, young minds are giving outstanding solutions to national and global problems.
The Prime Minister said, the government has been working with various countries in South East Asia and Europe in this area. He said, our aim is to ensure that youngsters get an international platform to showcase their skills and learn from best practices globally. He said, India is witnessing a sea change in the way it works and added that the things we thought could never happen are being delivered at great speed. Mr Modi said, earlier, when IITs produced aerospace engineers, there was not a strong domestic ecosystem to employ them. He said, today, with India’s historic reforms in the space sector, the last frontier before humanity has opened up to Indian talent. He said, cutting-edge and innovative work is happening in various sectors in India and his Government is fully committed to the mantra of reform, perform and transform. He added that there is no sector left from our reforms.
He said, we have ensured that the brand of IITs has only become stronger.
