Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Nitin Gadkari today said the government plans to create five crore jobs in the MSME sector and increase its contribution to GDP from 29 to 50 per cent in the next five years.

He was addressing a business summit titled “Globalizing the Brand Khadi: The Pride of India” in Mumbai.

The Minister stressed the need to strengthen Khadi sector as a large segment of the population is dependent on it.
