Did you ever wonder anti CAA protests across the country was borne out of ‘Genuine Democratic Outrage?’
Here is shocker for you: Enforcement Directorate has told that radicle Islamic outfit, Popular Front of India (PFI) mobilised Rs 120 crore to fund anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protests in India. The beneficiaries who received money are Congress leader Kapil Sibal, Supreme Court lawyer Indira Jaising, Dushyant A Dave and Abdul Samad.
Findings were: The transaction worth Rs 120 crore has taken place in 73 bank accounts by the PFI. ED has also informed that Kapil Sibal received Rs 77 lakh, Jaising received ₹ 4 lakh, Dushyant A Dave received ₹ 11 lakh and Abdul Samad—who is named in National Investigation Agency (NIA)—received ₹ 3.10 lakh. The funds were also transferred to New Jothi Group (New Jothi Marketing Corporation and New Jothi General Plastic Industries) of Rs 1.17 crore and to PFI Kashmir of Rs 1.65 crore.
While keeping a tab on the Popular Front of India (PFI), ED identified 73 bank accounts in which huge transactions were detected in last two months. ED found that the money transferred into these bank accounts were either done by cash deposit, NEFT or RTGS or IMPS mode. And the amounts were withdrawn on the same day or within two to three days leaving only minimum amount in these bank accounts,”
ED informed further that amount of deposit was kept below 50,000. It varied from 5,000 to 49,000 in order to prevent the disclosure of the identity of the depositor. Another shocking finding was PFI and its associated organisations were also opened in Delhi”s Shaheen Bagh area to fund the ongoing protest against the CAA.
As Shehzad Punawala rightly described: the anti-CAA protests are not spontaneous, but sponsored; not organic, but organized; nothing to do with Constitution, but everything to do with vested interests.
