ఉదర సంబంధిత వ్యాధితో ‘జూలీ’ మృతి

భువనేశ్వర్ : ఒడిశాలోని నందన్‌కనన్ జూపార్కులో సోమవారం రాత్రి ఆడ ఏనుగు జంబో జూలీ మృతి చెందింది. ఉదర సంబంధిత వ్యాధితో బాధపడుతున్న జూలీ.. చికిత్స పొందుతూ సోమవారం రాత్రి 7:09 గంటలకు మృతి చెందినట్లు జూ సిబ్బంది పేర్కొన్నారు. 2009, మే నెలలో ధీన్‌కనాల్ డివిజన్ ఫారెస్టు నుంచి నందన్‌కనన్ జూకు జూలీని తరలించారు. అప్పుడు దాని వయసు రెండేళ్లు. ఇటీవల అనారోగ్యానికి గురైన వెంబడే.. దానికి వెటర్నరీ అధికారులు శస్త్ర చికిత్స చేయడం ప్రారంభించారు. చికిత్స చేస్తుండగానే జూలీ ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయింది. కళేబారాన్ని పోస్టుమార్టం నిమిత్తం ఆస్పత్రికి తరలించారు.
