Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan will launch the PM e-VIDYA DTH Channel No. 31 for Indian Sign Language in New Delhi today. The event will also be attended by the Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Education, Jayant Chaudhary. The programme will feature the participation of hearing-impaired (HI) children, HI achievers, special educators, ISL-certified interpreters, and organizations working to mainstream the hearing-impaired community.
This new DTH channel has been conceptualised to promote ISL as both a language and a school subject, making it accessible to a wider audience. The channel will disseminate learning content for school children, teachers and educators, covering topics like career guidance, skill training, mental health, communication skills, and class-specific curricular content.
