With the Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be held in May, the Election Commission of India has launched a Voter Verification and Information Programme (VVIP).
Under this, the EC will verify the voters’ details and make the necessary changes or corrections before the elections.
The EC has set up contact centres in all districts and established a helpline number “1950” for voters.
The EC launched the VVIP programme during the two-day intensive training and workshop on the use of information and communication technology for general elections in New Delhi.
Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said that technology is indeed a major game changer. The EC also launched a PwD app for Divyangs tor new registration, change in address and other details.
