The Indian benchmark indices following strong global cues was trading close to a percent in the green with the Nifty50 adding 88 points, trading at 10,867 while the Sensex gained 313 points and was trading at 36,121.
Bank Nifty gained a percent led by Bank of Baroda, HDFC Bank, IDFC Bank, IndusInd Bank and YES Bank.
Nifty Pharma also added 1 percent in this morning session with gains from Sun Pharma, Cipla, Lupin and Piramal Enterprises.
From the oil & gas space, the top gainers were Reliance Industries which was up 1 percent followed by GAIL India, HPCL and Indian Oil Corporation.
The top gainers from NSE include UPL, HDFC, Titan Company, Sun Pharma and YES Bank while the top losers included NTPC, Coal India, Asian Paints, Power Grid and Indiabulls Housing Finance.
The most active stocks were Reliance Industries, PC Jeweller, Titan Company, YES Bank and HDFC.
Bata India, Commercial Engineers & Body Builders, Proseed India and SPL Industries have hit new 52-week high on NSE in this morning session.
