The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed eight crore 83 lakh today. The Union Health Ministry said, more than 13 lakh 14 thousand vaccine doses were given till 8 pm today. Out of which over 12 lakh four thousand beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and more than one lakh 10 thousand beneficiaries received 2nd dose of vaccine.
The Ministry said, more than three crore 57 lakh beneficiaries aged over 60 years have received the first dose and over ten lakh 57 thousand beneficiaries were vaccinated second dose till date. The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on 16th of January this year.
It said, 1,15,736 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in the country. With this total cases have reached 1,28,01,785.
The Ministry said, in the last 24 hours, 59,856 people were discharged. Total recoveries are now 1,17,92,135. The recovery rate is at 92.11 per cent. 630 deaths reported in the last 24 hours. With this the death toll has reached 1,66 th,177. Active cases are now at 8,43,473.
Indian Council of Medical Research ICMR said, 25,14,39,598 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till yesterday. It said, out of these 12,08,329 samples were tested yesterday.
