Coal stock increased to 29.5 Million Tonnes on 26th July: Govt

The government has said that there is sufficient coal in the thermal power plants. In a written reply in Rajya Sabha yesterday, Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi said, the coal stock available with the thermal power plants of the country is monitored on daily basis by Central Electricity Authority. He said, the coal stock increased to 29.5 Million Tonnes on 26th July this year from 25.6 Million Tonnes on 31st March this year. Mr Joshi said, that all India coal production in last financial year was over 778 Million Tonne in comparison to 716 Million tonnes in 2020-2021.
