CBI Organises Regional Meeting To Combat Tiger Trafficking

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has organised a two-day regional investigative meeting to combat tiger trafficking at its headquarters in New Delhi. CBI is co-hosting this meeting in collaboration with the International Criminal Police Organisation.

The primary focus of this meeting is to strengthen cross-border law enforcement cooperation between Indian and Nepalese law enforcement authorities. Further, the meeting aims to facilitate the sharing of criminal intelligence on tiger trafficking routes, trends, and criminal networks.

The trafficking route from India via Nepal to China continues to be frequently used for the illegal trade of tigers, leopards, and other big cats, highlighting serious implications for biodiversity conservation in the region.
