BSF Recruits 54,760 Personnel In Five Years; Special Provisions Announced For Ex-Agniveers

A total of 54,760 personnel have been recruited in the Border Security Force (BSF) in the last five years. Informing this in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said seven thousand 372 new posts have been created in BSF in the last five years. He said there are over 10,000 vacancies in BSF. Mr Rai said the government has made special provisions for the recruitment of Ex-Agniveers for the post of constable in BSF. He said 10 per cent of vacancies will be reserved for Ex-Agniveers. The Minister said the upper age limit will be relaxable for up to three years for the candidates of Ex-Agniveers. In addition, age relaxation of five years beyond the prescribed upper age limit will be given to the candidates of the first batch of the Agnipath scheme. He said Ex-Agniveers will be exempted from the Physical Efficiency Test.
