The BJP will organise an Avinandan Jatra in Kolkata today in support of Citizenship Ammendment Act. The National working President of the party J P Nadda will lead the Jatra which will start from Subodh Mallick Square in Central Kolkata and will culminate at Shyambazar in Northern part of the city.
The BJP has planned massive outreach programmes in support of the new act. The Avinandan Jatra is aimed at congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the new law.
Ruiling Trinamul Congress has also planned protests rally in Kolkata today, opposing the Citizenship act.
