Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will face each other in match number 16 of ICC World Cup 2019. While Bangladesh have one win from three games, Sri Lanka too have registered only one victory, their last match against Pakistan being abandoned due to rain.
Sri Lanka’s only win has come against Afghanistan. They would have to step up with their bowling as well as batting form in order to defeat Bangladesh today. The 35-year-old Malinga is the master of the slow ball, which makes him a go-to wicket-taker. Malinga has so far picked three wickets in the World Cup. Dimuth Karunaratne has displayed promising performance through his bat and has to take his team forward to win the World Cup.
For the Bangladeshi side, they have put up a strong show with bat as well as ball. Soumya Sarkar and Tamim Iqbal will need to provide the team with a solid and quick-fire start. Senior Bangladesh cricketer Shakib Al Hasan moved to the top in the ICC ODI rankings for all-rounders last month. The 32-year-old has performed well and has scored 260 runs so far, with the latest being 121 against the England.
