The Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh continued to show a worrying trend with a sharp rise in the number of people dying in a single day due to corona infection. According to the latest data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 12 people died over the last 24 hours as of Monday morning.
This is the highest number of daily deaths in nearly 4 months. Earlier, the highest single day death was reported on March 5 when 13 people died due to Corona infection in the country. The Covid-19 death toll in the country has gone up to 29,174.
The sample positivity rate or detection rate also stood at the high level of 16.51 percent on Monday with 2285 new cases detected during the same period. The positivity rate on Sunday was found to be 15.53 percent.
