In Tamil Nadu, Ayudha Puja is celebrated today, where people worship tools and equipment in their homes and offices. The rituals include cleaning, decorating, and puja. They also worship their books and vehicles today and put Tilak on their equipment and also place garlands on them. This day falls on the ninth day of Navratri. In companies, the owners distribute sweets, puffed rice, and some fruits along with some household gift items to encourage the workers. In some places in the state, Durga Puja is also celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety.
