Assam tourism department taking steps to increase domestic tourists flow

In Assam, the Tourism department is taking steps to increase the domestic tourists in-flow following the opening of parks and wildlife sanctuaries in the state.

Tourism Secretary Razvee Hussain and Director Deba Kumar Mishra said that priority has been given to develop tourism infrastructures.

Mr. Mishra said that 80 percent subsidy is being given for home stay facilities in and around tourism spots. He also said that under Assam Darshan ,tourism infrastructure is being developed at potential areas in the state. Mr. Hussain said that Assam tourism sector had made remarkable progress during the past 2 years.
