The Assam government has issued SOP to contain the spike of COVID-19 for those districts which have minimum 100 active cases. As per the guidelines, all marketplaces, shops ,supermarkets and weekly markets will be closed by 6 pm.
Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah said that the situation in Assam is not alarming but appealed all to follow guidelines. He said that the situation would be reviewed after 3 to 4 days. The Assam government encouraged working from home and virtual mode. On the other hand, 50 per cent students should attend in person on a day in educational institutes. Public transport to be operated with 50 per cent capacities. The order also restricted the number of guests in private functions including marriages to 100.
Meanwhile, there was no dearth of required medical facilities in the state. Senior Health officials said that over 5 lakh doses of injections are available. Nearly 17 lakh people took COVID jab so far in Assam.
