Apple has launched a display module replacement program for the iPhone 11. Apple said it found some iPhone 11 displays have an issue where the displays may stop responding to touch. This affects only iPhone 11 units that were manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020.
Apple in its support page said that the issue is with the display module of the iPhone 11. Apple launched the iPhone 11 last year along with the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. The iPhone 11 has a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina HD display. It’s been over a year since this iPhone made its debut. Apple’s replacement program covers iPhone 11 units manufactured from November 2019 onwards which is hardly two months after it launched.
The replacement program covers only this issue, and for devices with other issues like cracked screen will have to be resolved before the service. For such cases, there will most likely be a charge for the additional repair, Apple explained in its support page. iPhone 11 users who may have faced this issue, and gotten it fixed can also get a refund for the same from Apple. The replacement program is eligible for two years from the time the iPhone 11 was purchased.
iPhone 11 users can check if their device is eligible for the replacement by providing their phone’s serial number. Also, this replacement program doesn’t extend the warranty coverage of the iPhone 11. The display issue will still be fixed even if it’s out of warranty.
